Beware of Strange Flowers

Edited by Chris Lynch, The Tangled Bank anthology, marking the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species, has been released and it includes my story, The Sound of Sharp Voices. The paperback isn't available yet, but the pdf went on sale yesterday.

Having seen the PDF, the illustrations inside are breathtaking, and some of the bio's impressive. Chris has done a fantastic job.

Here's an excerpt from my story:

"Odd proceeded with caution. With a throat as thin as End’s, a simple word like help could tear his throat open, whereas he doubted supercalifragilisticexpialidocious or Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch would even cause the lodger to gulp."

Sounds like a cool anthology. I think I'll wait for the hard copy to come available. I don't have the money for a nifty e-reader, and I hate reading books on my computer. :-)

'Beware of Strange Flowers' would actually make a great title for a New Bedlam short I'm writing.

That aside, fantastic job on this hit. Looks like another professional outfit.

Cheers
Rich
