Movie Meme Goodness

I've stolen this Movie Meme from KV Taylor because it looked like fun and I thought it time I put my non-coolness on display for everyone to laugh and point at. Go ahead, I can take it.

1.Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
My first thought was 'The Slipper & The Rose', and it's more like twenty times (I'm cured now). Then I realised I couldn't admit that to the world (even though I just have). So I'm going to go with 'The Lost Boys' instead - Kiefer, vampires and humour, movies don't come much more perfect than that. Ooh, or maybe 'Young Guns'. I am so indecisive.

2.Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in the theater.
'Mannequin'. Gulp! How uncool am I? I went to see it everyday for a fortnight back in the 1980s and when I had run out of people to drag in with me, I went by myself. Saddo.

3.Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
Ooh, I want to say Kiefer but I don't think that's true (certainly not since the dude made me buy Mirrors on DVD), I'm going to go with Will Smith - he's always good value.

4.Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
Michael Caine. I cringe even having to type his name on my blog.

5.Name a movie that you can and do quote from.
The Lost Boys - "Read a TV guide, don't need a TV." "They're only noodles, Michael." I need help.

6.Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
It's probably more a case of I think I know all the words but in fact I'm making half of them up. My list is endless and runs a little like this - Moulin Rouge, The Slipper & The Rose (20 times remember), Grease, Evita.

7.Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
Everyone that has songs in it. I need a gag. Definitely Grease.

8.Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
Dark City. Not to be missed.

9.Name a movie that you own.
Twelve Monkeys.

10.Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
I'm probably missing someone really important, but I'm going to go with Eminem.

11.Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?
Weep! No. We don't have drive-in's in Liverpool.

12.Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven’t yet gotten around to it.
I don't think there is one. Maybe Coraline, but only because I'm waiting for the DVD to come out.

13.Ever walked out of a movie?
Yeah, something set in a hospital starring Paul McGann and I think it had paper in the title. We walked out and headed into the auditorium next door to watch something better.

14.Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
I can't remember one. How awful is that? I'm always sobbing at home, but I don't think I've ever cried in a theatre.

15.What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?
Casino Royale (Daniel Craig), I think. Or maybe, Hancock - whichever was released last.

16.What’s your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
I love too many genres to choose.

17.What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Grease. We queued and queued and queued.

18.What movie do you wish you had never seen?
Jude - that movie left me emotionally scarred.

19.What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
Rocky Horror Picture Show.

20.What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?
The Omen when I was a teenager.

21.What is the funniest movie you’ve seen?
A toss up between Shaun of the Dead and Mars Attacks. Both never fail to make me snort.

If you ever meet Michael Caine and want to make him suffer, tell him you have a friend who loved him in JAWS 4.

Accurate AND devastating! ; )

He, he, he...I liked Michael Caine best in 'The Man Who Would Be King' with Sean Connery. 'Lost Boys' is a cooler choice than 'The Slipper and the Rose'. Cool choices, Cate (no finger pointing or laughing, *gives a high-five*). Oops, probably un-cool of me...

Oh man...Mars Attacks! That movie was too good, especially using Slim Whitman against them!

I actually just saw a Caine movie that I really enjoyed the other night.

But i love Michael Caine!

Shaun of the Dead is a wonderous thing! I have a beloved poster of said movie above my non working fireplace. Vistors are always greeted with it... I wonder if this means I'm weird?

Jamie & Samantha are now officially banned from my blog. It was nice knowing you. Michael Caine, seriously!!! You do know the great Richard Harris didn't like him.

In my defense I watched it because it had Brendan Fraser in it.

What sort of defence is that? :D

I love Shaun of the Dead. Truly awesome movie in every possible way.

I've never actually seen Lost Boys. I always wanted to when it came out, but I never got around to it and then...well, the urge just faded eventually. I suspect now I'd just laugh at the 80s hair.

Seriously!!! Never. I'm shocked.

Mars Attacks!! How has no one else listed that? I love it!

I think I need to see The Slipper & the Rose, since I never have before. I must be missing something.

And don't feel bad-- I loved Mannequin. Loved, loved, loved. I need to see it again, it's been too long. (I always go to see movies I really like by myself at least once. For some reason it's loads better. I think I saw the Return of the King twice by myself.)

I love Dark City--"Shut it down."

I can't believe I forgot about Grease.

Funny, Michael Caine came to my mind as well. The problem is that if you choose not to see Michael Caine movies . . . there'd be no movies left to see. Seems he is contractually obligated to be in every one of them these days.

Always gives a workmanlike performance . . . but enough already.

I own "Mannequin" on VHS. You are invited to come watch it anytime! Then we have to chase it with the requisite "Big Trouble in Little China" and keep repeating, "I'm looking for a girl with green eyes."

I've never even HEARD of "The Slipper and the Rose". What is it? Should I check it out?

Katey - you are not missing a thing (unless you're into Richard Chamberlain).

Rebecca - I never tire of watching it.

Danielle - how could you? It's amazing what we forget until we see it on someone else's list.

Brendan - from henceforth I am banning all mention of a certain person on my blog.

Mercedes - Probably not. It's a musical version of Cinderella made in the 1970s starring Richard Chamberlain and Gemma Craven.
