Imagine an unedited draft of your current WIP turning up on the internet. I know the idea fills me with horror and I'm sure it does you. I don't even like people peeking over my shoulder when I'm working things out, it makes me want to explain that I can do better but rough drafts are just that - rough. Unless you're Mozart of course. Well this has happened to Stephenie Meyer, author of the successful Twilight series.
And to add a pinch of salt - only people she trusted had access to the rough draft.
Oh, this makes me so mad.

It is horrible! I totally agree. And SM said she only gave it to trusted people - how that would hurt.
How terrible for her. I do feel she handled this in a very professional manner. Her post was heartfelt and it is a shame it happened...and for it to have been someone she trusted, that has to make the situation even worse...

I think that the darkest, hottest part of hell is reserved for such folk.
