Insert Expletive Here

Imagine an unedited draft of your current WIP turning up on the internet. I know the idea fills me with horror and I'm sure it does you. I don't even like people peeking over my shoulder when I'm working things out, it makes me want to explain that I can do better but rough drafts are just that - rough. Unless you're Mozart of course. Well this has happened to Stephenie Meyer, author of the successful Twilight series.

And to add a pinch of salt - only people she trusted had access to the rough draft.

Oh, this makes me so mad.

It is horrible! I totally agree. And SM said she only gave it to trusted people - how that would hurt.

How terrible for her. I do feel she handled this in a very professional manner. Her post was heartfelt and it is a shame it happened...and for it to have been someone she trusted, that has to make the situation even worse...

Wow, that's awful. I'd be beyond furious.

By far the worst thing about this is that it was someone she trusted.

I think that the darkest, hottest part of hell is reserved for such folk.
