Somebody Else Saturday - Adam Blomquist

My second Somebody Else Saturday post. Today's unlucky lucky recipient is Adam Blomquist.

On one of my pretending-I'm-researching trawls of the internet, I somehow fell upon Adam's blog. It didn't hurt, the brain cushioned my fall though if you look closely, you'll see I left some blood behind. I like to leave my mark. Search your blogs closely, you'll find a piece of me lurking there. Anyhow, I'm always excited to find an interesting blog and as I guess most of you have the same obsession, I thought I'd use this week's S.E.S. post (how crap is that acronym?) to encourage a few of you to check out Adam's.

You can find his stories in Flashes in the Dark, Macabre Cadaver and he'll soon be appearing in a little magazine you may have submitted several hundred stories too heard of - Shroud. I am in jealous mode.

Northern Haunts

What a fabulous way to start the day!!!! Lonesome Pine has been accepted by Tim Deal and will appear in the Northern Haunts anthology. Here's the blurb from the Shroud Publishing site:

I am ecstatic that I have made it into this anthology - did a mini tap dance (while sitting down - I'm a writer, I can't do anything too energetic) while reading the email. And it's doubly good news because my story will be appearing alongside tales form JC Tabler, Barry Napier, Natalie L Sin, Nathaniel Lambert, Phil Kuhlman, oh and some guy called Nate Kenyon (you may have heard of him he wrote a wee book called 'Bloodstone' - woot!). Apologies to all those I've missed out...

Eek!

I couldn't decide how to label this post. I figured either:

'Eek!' - as in 'OMG! I've just submitted my first piece to Shroud Publishing's Northern Chills anthology';

or...

'Phew!" - as in 'Thank God, I've finished my first attempt at getting into the Northern Chills anthology'.

Now of course I'm questioning - is this something someone would read around the campfire? And if so, you better have a loaded gun because I wouldn't trust the boy. The story is titled: The Dreadful Guise of Red Berries, is 695 words and I'm hoping they don't include the title in the word count as that would make it 701 words. Double-Eek!

I'm now off to compose something a little odd...
