Shock Totem 3

Issue 3 of Shock Totem is now available to purchase from the publisher and from Amazon and it's full of bumper goodness with fiction, reviews and non-fiction from Aaron Polson, John Skipp, Steven Pirie, Mercedes Yardley, Amanda C Davis, Simon Marshall Jones, John Boden, Jeremy Kelly, and others.

And it's bumper indeed at 50% bigger than issues one and two (which included an offering from me).

The cover art by Mikio Murakami is to die for...Literally if you land on the sharp edge of the knife.

Cover Art Glee: Shock Totem

I wonder if my title will draw Glee fans to the blog. I wonder if the large eyeball will send Glee fans screaming away from my blog.

I don't watch Glee. I love musicals and it seemed my kind of thing, but I couldn't take to it. Maybe I didn't give it enough time. Maybe I gave it too much time.

Anyhow... As you've probably guessed from the gorgeous cover art to your left--by artist Hicham Haddaji-- issue 2 of Shock Totem is almost done. Squeeing, and hoping my squee delights the Glee fans still with us.

I do wish I'd stuck with that show. Or at least watched more than one episode.

Here is the gorgeous TOC for the upcoming issueof Shock Totem.

Follow the Butterflies

Earlier this week I received my contributor's copy of Emerald Tales which includes my story Empty Box Motel, and a story by KC Shaw, Cult of the Butterflies (which is fantastical sci-fi brilliance), and a very pretty well-put together magazine it is. If you haven't written anything yet for the magazine, I urge you to do so. Their 'Masks or Appearances can be Deceiving' deadline is October 1st.

On another note, they have a second Follow the Butterflies issue out today - a science fiction, fantasy and horror edition - and it includes a little something by a certain Mercedes M. Yardley.
