My Space

So Aaron Polson started this off with his Man Cave. Then Jamie Eyberg followed with his writing spaces, and then we have Natalie L. Sin with her man cave - don't ask, just watch the video.

And now, let me introduce my desk... It feels so MDF uninspired next to the other folks, but it is what it is.

On the shelf above my screen I have a collection of knick-knacks, and boxes containing paid bills. The notebooks on the shelves are crammed with ideas. On the stand is the 'Theatre of Curious Acts' synopsis and spread out beneath the screen is a collection of ideas for my lastest project 'Church of the Vacant Lot', along with some photos of famous people who look suspiciously like my characters. Oh, and the famous people attached to the side of the unit are from the will-I-ever-get-around-to-writing-it project otherwise known as 'The Eurydice Satellite'. I'm too lazy to remove them. Here's a close-up look.

If you click on the pictures they grow to true-nosiness size.

Awww I think it's oddly cute, for the things that come out of it. Also: Dean and Sam!! (I've only just started watching that show, if you can believe it, via DVD as of this month. I know, sad. But yay!)

Oh, you are in for some gorgeous treats. The show just keeps getting better and better. Plus, I have to ask - Dean or Sam? I'm a definite Dean gal.

I'm with Katey...oddly cute, and the things that come out of the space!

Thanks for sharing.

Okay, I have to fess up - Jack climbs down from the shelf and possesses me when my fingers hit the keyboard.

Is it still cute?

I should have brought the Wolf Dude in from the other room, he'd have scared things up. :D

Cate, you are a woman after my own heart (as ever). I'm definitely on Team Dean with you. Though in Sam's defense, his terrible haircut makes me happy.

HAHA Jack possesses you... it all makes sense now.

Awww, now I feel even worse that my video cut short. Your desk is cool!

At least you got a video to work. I can't upload any to mine.

Oh my god I almost shot coffee out my nose, Cate. You just made my day, seriously. <3

And honestly, I think Dean would be less rad without Sam. But it'd be hard to be in his camp. I alternately want to hit him and hug him.

Your space looks so...so ORGANIZED. Not to mention attractive and welcoming. Just goes to show, you can't judge your books by their cover, er, creation space. :)

Cate Gardner said...

I laughed at the word 'organised'.

I like the space. Especially the monkey getting crotched in upper right hand side He looks like he is screaming in pain. the elephant on the other side seems to be enjoying it however. :)

It is only as small as the big ideas you create within it! So, I would say you have a HUGE writing area because your stories are gigantic! hugs...

Cool. Thanks for sharing the photos.

OMG U R so neat! I'd be afraid to post a picture of my desk. But then again, you wouldn't even be able to see the desk underneath all the paper - no joke. :(

Now I've got desk envy...

Andrea Allison said...

Ha! Looks like mine except cleaner.

Cate Gardner said...

Kim, I am far from neat - the rest of the room is in utter chaos. :)

BTW, I'm a Sam gal. I think he's cute. I always go for the smart sensitive type. He needs a new hair style though. I like Dean too but he'd be lost without Sam.

Cate Gardner said...

How can you resist the wonder that is Dean? :D

Andrea Allison said...

It's not easy, but someone has to be on Sam's side. The poor boy has gone through enough. :)
