Top Five Must Read's (Worst Blog Title of the Year)

I have a list of fifteen books that I have passed onto family members for Christmas in the hope that my 'to buy' list dwindles down to a few books. I refuse to panic about the wobbly tower that is my 'to read' pile and shall instead focus on some of the gems I've pulled from it in 2009. If there was such an award as the 'Cates' for outstanding fiction, the below novels would be my top five this year.

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev
Unwind by Neil Shusterman
Jack of all Trades by KC Shaw
The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

I cannot argue. Unwind in particular was PAINFULLY good.

Eek, I never thought I'd see my book sandwiched between those awesome ones. Thanks. :)

Shusterman left me with an undying love for all things dystopian.

KC, well it's where it belongs.

I have heard good things of all of them and only read one of them. I need to get on the ball.

I need a bigger book budget.

Jamie, it's so hard keeping up sometimes.

Mary, me too. :D

I love end of the year listy-things (especially when they involve things to read). Great recs!

See, other than my dad my family doesn't "do" horror. So my hands are rather tied when it comes to gift giving. Especially with my sister ; )

A good list, which further expands my own wish list. I'm currently working on a similar post. It also includes Forest of Hands and Teeth--amazing book.

FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH!

That book was so awesome.

Everybody knows you can get books for free at the library, right? Even new releases. Most libraries will even let you order them online kind of like Netflix.

Aaron, me too.

Natalie, most of my family don't read (gulp), so books are pretty much off the list here.

Rabid, look forward to reading your list.

Ray, a sad tale - our library closed a couple of years ago.

Unwind is sitting on my coffee table, as it's the next thing on the list. Can't wait! <3
